Banana Blossom, also known as a ‘banana heart’, is the fleshy tear-shaped, purple-skinned flower which grows at the end of a banana fruit cluster. Traditionally used in south-east Asian and Indian cooking, banana blossom is fast becoming a staple among vegetarians, vegans and the health conscious. It has a mostly neutral flavour and absorbs the flavours of the herbs, spices and sauces in which it is cooked.

Boasting a chunky, flaky texture, it is an ideal substitute for fish in salads, curries, stews, burgers or even the classic fish and chips. Banana blossom can be eaten raw - season to your liking and try it in sandwiches, wraps and tacos. Completely free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives, Tropical Sun Banana Blossom in water is naturally preserved straight after picking to guarantee maximum freshness and flavour. Enjoy!

Please note - as the product is free from artificial preservatives, natural browning may occur.
