If you're a fan of US style root beer, try our new and improved recipe. It's non-alcoholic and great for that classic root beer flavour.

The original “root beer” was sold as a syrup for consumers to water down into a type of cordial. It was both sweet and bitter, probably not unlike cough syrup today! The “root” in the name came from its main ingredient, the sassafras root and the "beer" came about as someone changed the original name "tea" to "beer" to make it sound more appealing, even though there's no beer in it.

We can't accurately describe our root beer, so hoping you'll write in and let us know how best to describe it to those that haven't tried it as yet!

Great Product

Love this, really is the only UK root beer on the market. US root beer is just too expensive. I do wonder though why it is more expensive to by direct from Tropical Sun (£0.75) than from Sainsbury's (£0.50)? If it was the same price I would order regularly direct from here.

Amazing, Best in the UK

Best root beer I’ve found in the UK, finally a root beer that tastes good enough so I don’t have to spend ££££ importing from the states. I usually order on Amazon though.

Wow!

Never had sarsaparilla before, had something called root beer I think once but it was nothing like this! Being caffeine free is good with me, not a regular coffee (or tea) drinker so doesn’t always sit well with me, especially too late in the day. Pleasantly surprised it has sugar and not sweetener, can’t say that about many drinks in the UK these days, sadly! Dunno what the reviewer was talking about no sarsaparilla as I’ve never had it or this flavour before - coincidence? Doesn’t just taste like sugared water either, there’s definitely flavour there. Looking to order from this site which looks amazing, lucky to come across it from the can. Think one of the reviewers who gave one star did so by mistake as they gave a positive review, lol.

Fantastic Root Beer

Fantastic tasting root beer. Very refreshing. Thank you so much for not putting horrible tasting sweeteners in it. Will certainly order regularly. Another excellent quality Tropical Sun product.
